The current Board of Directors was chosen from among the orginal founding members of the Patriots' Border Alliance. Nominations were taken during a conference call in which all members were present and said nominations were duly seconded. Each nominee was asked if they would serve a limited six month term. All indicated that they would. Overall, nine members were nominated.

Each cadre member then cast an email ballot and was asked to choose five nominees to serve on the board. Two nominees were elected overwhelmingly. The rest of the Board was selected in a second ballot submitted by the voting members.

PBA Board of Directors (L-R): Bill Irwin, Ron Oplinus, Bob Wright, Pete Lanteri, Hank Fields

Bob Wright

Thank you for giving me a minute to tell you why I am seeking re-election to the Board of Directors of Patriots’ Border Alliance. I would like to tell you a little about myself and why I would like your vote for re-election.

I currently earn my daily bread working for a major energy provider as a senior operations specialist in a hydrocarbon liquids extraction facility.  This position provides an environment that demands quick decisions, made independently, affecting millions of dollars worth of equipment and production, and the safety of employees and residents of the surrounding area.  It is a job I am good at and enjoy. The dynamic operational tempo requires I stay sharp and at least two steps ahead of events as they happen.  I believe there is a similar dynamic inside our movement and Patriots’ Border Alliance.

I believe I have demonstrated the ability to deal with rapidly changing priorities and difficulties in an effective manner while serving as the chairman of the Board of Patriots’ Border Alliance. I have served as a Minuteman since the first of the original Minuteman Project in Apr. of ’05.

I have served in some sort of leadership capacity since the first convoy to the Naco line to the present. In those capacities I never forgot that it is the volunteers who are the soul, backbone and power of the Minuteman movement.  I believe I have always used whatever leadership position I held to serve the Minuteman volunteer to the best of my ability.

PBA has made amazing progress since its inception. We have already made a difference in this movement.  Together we have created a Minuteman organization that shares the same commitment to selfless patriotism as our members.  We have begun the process of uniting this movement through co-operation with other groups.  We have boldly moved into non traditional activities that have brought tremendous results.  The new year will be a time of building, unifying, and taking our cause to a new level of activism and success. I hope you will return me to the board so that I may be a part of that effort.

Pete Lanteri

Married, no children, 3 huskies, business owner

1988  Graduated high school and enlisted in the Marine Corps.
1990  Discharged from Marine Corps and entered the electrical construction field.
2002  Received Master Electricians License.
2002  Opened electrical contracting company called Icon Electrical Corp.
2005  Joined Minutemen Civil Defense Corps prior to first 30 day op.
Oct 05 to May 07 Served as NY state director for MCDC as well as the northeast regional director. Currently NY state director for PBA and responsible for contacting sister organizations to work together.

I have been involved in the Minuteman movement since it's debut in AZ at the first 30 day operation in April of 2005 and have not missed a 30 day operation yet. Along with working the southern border in Arizona, I have been one of the few Minutemen who have also worked our northern border with Canada. I have served as line leader at numerous ops and was the sector chief at the April 07 operation in Arizona during most of my time on the line.

My responsibilities as NY state director included border watch organizing for NY border ops, organizing with Border Patrol, interviewing with print, tv and radio media by escorting them at our watches and explaining how we operate to help the public understand what we do and why we do it. Since I live on Long Island, most of my operations (protests, day laborer surveillance and overcrowded housing surveillance) take place here. I have organized protests alone and with other local anti-illegal immigration organizations to raise awareness to the problem with the general public. I have spoken in front of high school classes, rotary clubs, union meetings and have done live television debates in the NY market.

I believe a board member in any anti-illegal immigration organization should not just have a knowledge of the organization who's board he sits on, but have a knowledge of the overall situation nationwide. He must stay educated by reading immigration stories from around the country and should be able to hold his own at a debate. He must know what local, county and state laws are being considered and passed to help fight illegal immigration. Also, he must not be just a board member but an active member in border watches, protests and public meetings to stand next to the members of the organization.

As an elected board member, I will continue the work I have done over the last 3 years by putting PBA first and staying educated and involved in our fight.

Bill Irwin

The Patriots’ Border Alliance is a new organization and we have much work left to do.  I want to continue to help carry this movement forward - turning up the heat on elected officials (City, County, and State across America) - trying to do away with sanctuary cities - getting local citizens involved in protests to stop giving benefits to illegal aliens.  Patriots’ Border Alliance needs to reach out to the towns and communities across America to get involved.  PBA needs to hold recruiting meetings around the country.  PBA needs to hold protests, on request, of local citizens to awaken their communities to the problems of illegal aliens in our country.

These are just a few of my ideas to help move PBA along.  If I am re-elected I will work tirelessly to meet this challenge.

Former U.S. Marine.  Bill is married and the father of one son.  Lives in Tucson AZ and is a retired business owner.  He is a life member of the Masonic Lodge and a Patron Member of the National Rifle Association.  He was an original Minuteman and joined MCDC in 2005.  He is the past National Operations Officer and Membership Chairman of that organization.  Bill is one of the original members of Patriots Border Alliance and was elected to the Board of Directors July 9, 2007.

Ron Oplinus

I first joined MCDC in May of 2005 and proudly served on my first border watch operation in Vermont in October of 2005.In February of 2006 I was part of the group that formed the New Hampshire chapter of MCDC, and served as State Director until my termination by Chris Simcox in May of 2007. I had previously participated in MCDC border watch operations at Three Points in April and October of 2006 and April 2007.

In May/June of 2007 I was part of the team that agreed to establish PBA as an alternative to MCDC and I participated in our first month long operation in October of 2007. During this operation I was asked to serve on the BOD as treasurer after one of the elected members resigned to take care of his family. In this role as treasurer I have created the bookkeeping system for PBA and currently maintain control of the organization finances.

I have been interviewed and quoted by television, radio, and newspaper reporters, and have delivered talks on illegal immigration and the Minuteman Role to various groups in New Hampshire. This exposure, as well as my extensive managerial experience as both an engineering manager for major electronics manufacturing companies and a military officer in the Naval Reserve (my last billet was as Commanding Officer of a Naval Reserve unit) will provide a solid voice in directing the affairs of PBA as we mature into a potent force in the illegal alien war.
