Dear Minutemen & Supporters:
Listed below is a MEDIA RELEASE from NAILEM and PHOENIX LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSOCIATION (PLEA).
As you are aware, Phoenix lost a brave officer to an illegal alien this week in the line of duty. Luckily, PPD ended the life of this criminal when he threatened another innocent civilian. As this event has set in place forever a deep sadness in Officer Erfles' family and close friends, it has also started a firestorm of events that will be forthcoming.
As Minutemen, I ask that each of you find the time tomorrow night to attend this vigil. This is not a protest, this is not a rally. This is a vigil. We are there to mourn with his family, PPD, PLEA, NAILEM and our community. NO signs are needed but bring American flags if you like. Please bring something to leave behind at the memorial.
Many of you will be headed out to border watch operations in the coming week. Standing post is only one aspect of being an active Minuteman. When we go away from our posts and back to our neighborhoods, you are always encouraged to get involved at home. This is one event that will help you do just that. Come out and show your strength and resolve by supporting the family of Phoenix Police Department Officer Nick Erfle. See you then.

TO: ALL Minuteman Groups (MMP, TXMM, MCDC, Yuma Patriots, FL MM, etc.)
PBA is requesting your presence during the month of October to stand the lines for a 30 day operation. This will be our first 30 day operation since our inception. Our efforts are to help stop the flow of illegal immigration into our sovereign nation.
Your patriotic spirit and dedication to country is the backbone of our operations and Movement. Since the start of the Minuteman Project in April 2005, thousands of Minuteman Volunteers have participated in many border locations, protests and meetings throughout the nation. This month, we present a forum in which ALL MINUTEMEN are welcome to operate as one voice, within one movement, with one goal. As we bring operations back to our birthplace, we seek to recognize the many Minutemen who have served in many capacities, and recognize our movement’s leadership across the nation.
The PBA Mission for October is to coordinate and organize different Minuteman groups into one single operating area, Palominas AZ (Cochise Co). We will work together to spot and report any and all illegal activity to the US Border Patrol. Also, we will work to shut down this heavily trafficked area by maintaining a Minuteman presence across the Huachuca Mountain regions and areas near our border.

H.R. 1940 Would END Birthright Citizenship
This is a call to action! HR 1940, introduced by Georgia Representative Nathan Deal (R-GA) and would bring an END to automatic citizenship for children born of illegals while residing in the United States. You can view the bill HERE. Here is the salient section of the bill:

right citizenship established by section 1 of the 14th
amendment to the Constitution, a person born in the
United States shall be considered ‘subject to the jurisdiction’ of the United States for purposes of subsection (a)(1)

Immigration Debate Heating Up in Detroit
The Detroit News tells readers that area activists supporting the "rights" of illegal aliens are working hard to see that police are denied the ability to ascertain a criminal's citizenship and legal status in this country:
"We don't want (local public officials) to go beyond their call of duty to carry out responsibilities of federal immigration officials," said Anthony Mosko, of the Detroit faith-based organization Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength. "There's no way to know that just by looking at somebody if they are documented or undocumented."
Such logic outrages foes who say police are sworn to enforce all laws. The proposal, which council members could consider next month, is modeled after an ordinance Detroit adopted in May and is similar to ones in Los Angeles and Chicago. But it goes against a national trend of municipalities teaming with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to allow cops to identify and report undocumented residents.
"If a police officer snatches someone who is an immigrant from the Mideast or some country that we have known terrorists coming from and they have no papers or documentation, (they) should ascertain who this person is and if they are here legally," said Fred Timpner, director of the Michigan Association of Police.
Illegal Aliens Declare War on the United States
Douglas McKinnon, a pundit at Townhall.com, has written a provocatively titled piece called "Illegal Aliens Declare War on the United States, Part II. The article covers the recent developments with Prince William County (VA) enforcing their laws regarding illegals and their employers:
Six weeks after writing my first column on this subject, the situation has gone from bad to worse for the law-abiding citizens of Prince William County. In late July, thousands of illegal aliens and their supporters met in Prince William County to declare that they would punish the county for daring to enforce it laws by boycotting non-immigrant businesses, striking against those innocent owners and suing the county into bankruptcy.
Earlier this week, as many as seven thousand illegal aliens and their pro-law breaking supporters – including Hispanic Priests – converged once again at the seat of the Prince William County government to intensity their militancy as they sought to intimidate the Prince William board and the legal citizens of the county. It should be noted that this threatening protest was led by a group that calls itself “Mexicans Without Borders.” An organization headed-up by an individual who, it has been reported, draws his inspiration from the violent Marxist Zapatista Army of National Liberation. Pure and simple, these militants intend to take the county down and then take their guerilla campaign to the next city or county that has the temerity to try and enforce the laws of the United States.
For the majority of the citizens of Prince William County, as well as the vast majority of the citizens of our nation, this thuggish attack from within represents a direct threat to our very sovereignty. We are a nation with borders and it is the job of our federal government to enforce those borders, and while doing so, ensure the national security of our country.
Being Illegal Not a Crime According to Giuliani
Townhall.com reporter Libby Quaid has revealed some interesting quotes from former New York City mayor, and now presidential candidate, Rudy Giuliani in which he indicates that a person's illegal status is not a crime:
"I was U.S. attorney in the Southern district of New York," he said. "So believe me, I know this. In fact, when you throw an immigrant out of the country, it's not a criminal proceeding. It's a civil proceeding."
Illegal immigration shouldn't be a crime, either, Giuliani said: "No, it shouldn't be because the government wouldn't be able to prosecute it. We couldn't prosecute 12 million people. We have only 2 million people in jail right now for all the crimes that are committed in the country, 2.5 million."
He added: "My solution is close the border to illegal immigration."
Border Fence Very "Doable" According to Engineers
Cybercast News Service has posted an extensive article interviewing Brian Damkroger, senior manager for border security and exploratory systems at the New Mexico-based Sandia National Laboratories. Mr. Damkroger explains the process for erecting a fence along the United States' entire 1,500+ mile border with Mexico:
Sandia is working with the federal government in securing the border through a border fence and other measures. Sandia also helped design the 15-foot-high, 14-mile-long, double layer security fence in San Diego, viewed by fence proponents as a model of what works in deterring illegal immigration.
A border wall could be constructed across the southern border probably in less than five years if the federal government devoted multiple crews to the project to work on different sections of the wall concurrently, said David Hunley, vice president of Connico, Inc. a Nashville-based engineering firm.
"It's a large-scale project, but it's not high tech," Hunley said. "You just have to have the people to throw at it. You would also need the political will to do it."
Bush Refuses to Deny That There Is a North American Agenda
Phyllis Schlafly has written a provocative piece over at Townhall.com about last week's meeting between Mexican President Felipe Calderon, US President George Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Heralded by many as the beginning of the North American Union, Schlafly picked up on a subtle reminder that no one is saying that it ISN'T going to happen:
The $64,000 question was posed by Fox News reporter Bret Baier. He asked all three heads of state, "Can you say today that this is not a prelude to a North American Union, similar to a European Union?"
Their response was positively sensational. Not one denied that SPP is leading to a North American Union. The White House transcript of the news conference allows us to assume that the elites of the three countries are, indeed, moving toward North American integration.
Bush insulted the questioner and those who want an answer by accusing them of believing in a "conspiracy." Bush twice said he was "amused" by such speculation, but as Queen Victoria of England famously said, "We are not amused."
Instead of addressing the crux of the question about plans to integrate the three North American countries, Bush resorted to ridicule. He sneered at his critics as "comical," and accused them of engaging in "political scare tactics" and wanting "to frighten our fellow citizens into believing that relations between us are harmful for our respective peoples."
Following the Amnesty Trail
Tucson (AZ) Weekly has posted a fabulous article and photographs about what it's like to live along the aptly named "amnesty trail". The story is packed with facts and tales by those who live this nightmare daily, this article is for those who do not live on our borders but who want to know the 'real' story:
Those who walk the Amnesty Trail enter the country through the Sasabe Corridor, a roughly 10-mile-wide stretch of land between the San Luis and Baboquivari mountains. In 2004, an estimated 250,000 illegals crossed into the U.S. along this corridor, and about the same number crossed in 2005.
The Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge has 5 1/2 miles of border within the corridor. Its land has been badly staggered by illegal immigration and drug smuggling, and visitors can see evidence of it within moments of arriving. The parking lot is surrounded by steel rails and a locked gate, and the office has bars on the windows and expensive security doors.
It looks like a building in a dangerous inner-city neighborhood, not an 118,000-acre preserve in some of Arizona's most picturesque land.
But the measures were necessary following six break-ins at staff housing in January and February 2006, and the theft of five vehicles from the parking lot in the same period. Refuge Manager Mitch Ellis sounds almost forlorn talking about it. "I feel like I'm in jail sitting in my office," he says.
He has reason to be saddened. There are now 1,500-2,000 miles of illegal trails on Refuge land. Illegal crossers left 500 tons of trash for staff and volunteers to pick up in 2004, and about the same amount in 2005. "I know it sounds unbelievable, but we cranked the numbers," says Ellis.
The open border has also brought violent death to the Buenos Aires. The refuge in 2005 recorded four homicides likely committed by border bandits preying on illegals, and three more illegals had to be rescued after being shot.
The hardest-hit area is below Garcia Road, a dirt track running east to west about a mile north of the border. This parcel became such a hotbed of criminal activity that in October, Ellis ordered 3,500 acres off limits to the public--American land effectively taken out of American hands by the invaders.
