PBA and Allied Minutemen Work in Local Communities Too

ANTI ‘SANCTUARY’ INITIATIVE GAINS MOMENTUM, Phoenix, AZ

A press conference, rally, and fundraiser will be held in support of the family of fallen Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle.  We the people call upon the Phoenix City Council to end its ‘Sanctuary City’ policy, i.e., Operations Order 1.4.3, and are providing the grieving public an opportunity to sign the state ballot initiative petition know as  ‘Support Our Law Enforcement’ (SOLE). The intention of the initiative is to prohibit sanctuary policies throughout the State of Arizona.

Yet another law enforcement officer was slain at the hands of an illegal alien.  This remembrance commemorates the 25,000+ Americans, including law enforcement officers, murdered by illegal aliens since September 11th, 2001.  Of which, 5 of the last 7 police officers murdered in the Greater Phoenix area were killed by illegal aliens. The City of Phoenix ‘Sanctuary City’ policy is in itself illegal, irresponsible, and reckless.  The policy harbors foreign nationals illegally residing in the U.S., while continuing to place law enforcement officers and the public at large in grave danger

OCTOBER 2, 2007: From the Border

Despite the cool rain last night, a group of Patriots chose to assist a local rancher protect his land by sitting watch from 5 pm to 2 am.  An early sighting followed by the sound of many Hispanic voices warranted a call to the BP who arrived quickly and were able to apprehend 10 individuals out of 12 sighted who had crossed into American territory just 2 miles inside the border.  Upon further investigation, our scouts discovered several very sophisticated layup sites that were very difficult to see from the public road but which were being used on a regular basis by local coyotes.  The poor rancher was most grateful to the PBA Minutemen for helping him protect his land last night.  Unfortunately, none of our volunteers had a video camera last night to record this apprehension by the Border Patrol.

This morning, Bert, one of our local scouts, stopped by to tell us that in his early-morning inspections of several of the well-known pick up areas, he was stopped by some local hikers who expressed their gratitude to the Patriots' Border Alliance Minutemen for making them feel safer in this area.   Bert tells us that folks in the Miracle Valley area have also told him how much they appreciate the Minutemen coming back into this area.   Despite some rumors that this area is totally under control, it really is a hotbed of illegal activities.  Bert has lived here for many years and his former job enabled him to be familiar with all the inroads and byways around here where illegal activity is frequently observed.  He is aware of local folks who are enabling the smugglers in this area, both with drugs and people.  Sometimes when he is driving around the backroads, he has noticed that his older vehicle attracts illegals who think he is their ride, and they will rush his car when he slows down or if he should happen to lightly honk his horn.

Other local folks who are providing us with intelligence affirm what Bert has told us and have even provided us with maps of areas they know to be frequent pick up areas.  Jim, another experienced Scout stopped in this morning also to share some recent activities he has observed in another area.  So PBA has many potential areas to set up border watch lines, so they can vary their locations and "confuse the enemy," (so to speak).

It's amazing to us, that in an area without a regular local newspaper, how quickly the word has spread of our activities.  Of course, many read the Sierra Vista Times and there was an article about the PBA Opening Activities on Saturday, Sept. 29th.  But not everyone down here has regular newspaper delivery, so it appears that the word is being spread more by word of mouth.

The weather report says we should have more rain tonight and tomorrow but by Thursday, all will be clear.  Inclement weather does not deter the dedicated men and women who have come to Palominas this week.

On Wednesday, a contingent from the Palominas camp will join other PBA Minutemen in Phoenix for the vigil for Officer Nick Erfle.  It will be a real trek since it takes 3 plus hours to get from here to downtown Phoenix, where the vigil will be held.  But we hope to see other PBA volunteers, old friends from MCDC, and the many from USA and other organizations who want to make a strong statement to our city government that sanctuary city policies are costing too many lives--especially of our police officers.

How much easier it would be to just sit in our comfortable homes, watch a little TV, go to bed early, have access to warm showers and home-cooked food than it is to stand watch on this border.  At night, when the wind blows, we eat dirt along with our snack foods.  We drink too much coffee trying to stay awake at night yet daylight arrives so early, it is hard to catch up on our sleep during the day.  At least it is cool at night, so we don't have to contend with the oppressive summer heat.  Those who come to serve as Minutemen make hugh personal sacrifices--especially of their comfort and safety.  But if our government won't protect that rancher, who will?  It has come to the point that we can no longer count on our government to provide those important protections laid out in the Preamble of our Constitution:  "insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."  But perhaps we need to look at the opening of that Preamble which states, "We the People of the United States...."

It has been proven to us that our government is inefficient and cumbersome in their response to large emergencies.  In the case of illegal immigration, it would seem that our government actually is providing an impediment to the enforcement of those many Federal laws enacted in 1986.  Many of us believe we had better be prepared should there be future emergencies, which may develop because of the incursion of terrorists over our borders.  Even if we are unable to stand watches on the border, we should at least have our emergency supplies stored "just in case."

OCTOBER 1, 2007 PBA Report from Palominas, Arizona:

Today, a local rancher, unable to remove the trash left on her property by illegals called the Palominas Trading Post to ask if there were any Minutemen who could come down and help her remove this trash.  Pete and Barry from NY did not hesitate to get into their truck and take care of this business.  She thanked them profusely.  The PBA Minutemen stand ready to assist the citizens of Cochise County in whatever way possible to minimize the impact of the illegal immigrant traffic they must bear due to their proximity to the border.

Tonight, the intrepid Patriots from 13 states face an 80% chance of thunder storms tonight in the Hereford area as they go out for the evening’s border watch.  But that does not deter them from the important task at hand.  Today they have been asked by another local rancher for assistance on his ranch where 12 illegals were apprehended last night.  There will be seven posts tonight on this private land with some highly sophisticated night vision and thermal equipment provided by American Border Patrol assisting the eyes and ears of the Patriots’ Border Alliance Minutemen.

As usual, the volunteers are carefully briefed before the watch begins on weather conditions, time of moonrise, details about the locality they will be working, how to use their radio equipment, and their code of conduct.  It is heart-warming to see the dedication of these volunteers who give so much of their time, treasure and talents to aid the Border Patrol in these busy smuggling corridors.  We have learned that the recent Federal border fence building has diverted the traffic from the existing smuggling routes into areas farther east of the Naco Border crossing.  Local Cochise County folks who know the area well are providing valuable information and intelligence to assist the PBA Minutemen in their efforts.

We are including here pictures of the group of volunteers at the evening briefing session.  Their leader tonight is Ed H. from Maryland.  He has received extensive leadership training to prepare him to lead these volunteers in a professional and efficient manner.  The Communications leader, Bob C., is giving the radio briefing to ensure good communications for the night.  There are volunteers of all age groups assisting tonight.  Other areas of operation are now being scouted and will be worked into future operations.

Bad News on the Base Camp Web Cam:

Bad news folks, the web cam got fried by an electrical surge.  The cam was powered by an extention cord plugged into an outlet on a trailer, the trailer's electrical was apparently surging up and down and the camera went south as a result.

Myself and Mike Christie tried to get it back up untill we realized it was fried, unfortunately we don't have a replacement at this time.  If anyone knows someone who might have an IP pan tilt and zoom camera they could lend or donate, I will get it installed right away.

Our other option is to see if we can raise the money to buy one.  I will donate $50, it will cost around $600-$700, if we can get 15 people to match my $50 we could have a camera up  in a week after I get the the money and place the order.

What do you think folks, can we do this?

FROM OUR NORTHERN BORDERS:

Our first operation on the Vermont border with Canada has been completed. After meeting at the 101 Restaurant in Troy, the four members participating carpooled to our operating site in N. Troy. Two members hiked the trail to the border while the other two maintained a watch of the road/trail to the border. Shortly after our arrival, the Border Patrol stopped to inquire as to our purpose and discuss our plans. The agent in the vehicle was very friendly, and tacitly indicated that we were in a good location to observe illegal activity. The attached pictures show our operating site as well as the border marker and trail. Many thanks to John for the good camera work. There wasn't much activity during our stay although we did have a brief conversation with a Canadian hiker wearing a large back pack who had parked his car near our site and told us he was going to hike some of the trail. Board of Director Coverage:

Minutemen & Supporters!

I am just getting back from the start of our 30 Day Operational Kick Off; this time: PBA Operation Allied Minutemen! It was the perfect weekend for a perfect gathering of many dedicated, hardworking Minutemen volunteers! Minutemen came to represent Massachusetts, Maryland, Washington, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Indiana, New York, North Carolina and many points in between. Truly, this nostalgic gathering was one of a kind, and brought back the true spirit of the Minuteman movement.

Cochise County is were it all began almost 3 years ago. In October of 2004, Jim Gilchrist created the Minuteman Project calling for patriotic American volunteers to protest the US government by standing watch on our borders. Thousands of Americans took to this new activism. This weekend, we brought back the very message that sent our nation into a new debate!

It was quickly noted that USBP was working hard to secure that area only a few miles from the border. USBP are active working the open lanes between the new US government-built fence, rounding up groups of illegal aliens as they pass through Palominas and the San Pedro River Valley. I awoke Friday AM to the sound of USBP helicopters and field agents rounding up large groups only a few hundred yards from our HQ. This is going to be a busy month.

Saturday we were thrilled to hear a new presidential candidate out of North Carolina. Daniel Gilbert of Asheville, NC has recently thrown his hat into the Republican presidential ring and gave a refreshing speech on transparent government and conservative American values. We wish him well as he heads out on the campaign trail. This man is with us in this fight.

Also on deck, we listened to Glenn Spencer of American Patrol who gave his tale of his dealings with the illegal immigration debate in California, and how he has since moved to Arizona and remains focused on securing the border in his own proficient way.

It was also good to hear the message of Mr. Jim Gilchrist once more. A voice that has been not only strong in our movement, but one that has been effective in national media, public opinion and now a household name. We thank the founder of the Minuteman Project and our movement for coming to share his experience, meet one on one with the Minutemen volunteers, and to take a post along side us.

Bob Wright, the Chairman of PBA gave a very powerful and moving speech. PBA is thankful to have a dedicated, well spoken and focused representative; a leader with a single mission: Secure The Border. It was good to spend time with this leader and learn from him, and further make plans for the future of PBA.

More than 40 Minutemen were on hand Saturday as we gathered. We opened the event with a prayer given by Quetzal Doty and we recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Some media were at the ready taking copious notes. There were lots of new faces and many reunions with old pals. Late afternoon (4:00 PM), we were lead out onto our first line of operation for the month by PJ O'Mally of Mesa, Arizona. Although no sightings were noted, we did mange to track several loaded vehicles with night vision. It is clear that there are locations along the border in Cochise County that vehicles travel freely between our two nations, unchecked and under cover of darkness. We spotted several as they approached, turned out lights, and it was then a waiting game.

Please stay tuned to the PBA website through the week and month as many more photos will be added. We also have a remote camera at HQ that you are welcome to check out. This will give you a live feed of our activity in camp. http://67.135.195.4:8088/

The Sierra Vista Herald Covers PBA's Opening Event

PALOMINAS — More than 40 people turned out Saturday for the Patriots’ Border Alliance’s kickoff rally of a month-long effort intended to “help stop the flow of illegal immigration into our sovereign nation.”

“Operation: Allied Minutemen” will run through October. The mission is to coordinate and organize different Minuteman groups in Palominas and work together to spot and report illegal activity to the U.S. Border Patrol.
“Also, we will work to shut down this heavily trafficked area by maintaining a minuteman presence across the Huachuca Mountain regions and areas near our border,” the group says in a press release.

Participants came to the event from places such as California, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Indiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, Massachusetts, South Dakota and Oregon.

Report from our New Mexico Affiliate:

Just an update on "Patriot Base" and our kickoff operations. We have had several Patriots stop by on their way to Arizona. As of October 29th we have Spotted 3 suspected drug smugglers--who were picked up by the Border Patrol along with 7 other POI's for a total of 10. Our muster role call numbers are few , ( average 6) but spirits are high!! By weeks end we will should have close to 20 Patriots for our operations. May God Bless! ~Cajun

World Peace Herald Covers PBA's Opening Day

"Your patriotic spirit and dedication to country is the backbone of our operations and movement," PBA Chairman Bob Wright said in a letter to volunteers. "This month, we present a forum in which all Minutemen are welcome to operate as one voice, within one movement, with one goal."

Mr. Wright, former MCDC deputy executive director, said the volunteers will seek to locate illegal aliens and other illegal activity to report to the U.S. Border Patrol. This is the PBA's first 30-day operation since its inception earlier this year.

Joining in the vigil is James Gilchrist, who co-founded the Minuteman Project and set up its first border watches in April 2005, and Glenn Spencer, president of the American Border Patrol, a private organization that uses high-tech equipment to highlight what it calls the "crisis of illegal immigration."

First report from PBA's basecamp in Palominas:

Minutemen started rolling in Friday, setting up their campsites behind the Trading Post in Palominas.  We started off Saturday morning with an 'Orientation Meeting'.  At noon our 'Opening Day Rally' began. Stacy O'Connell introduced the speakers to a crowd of about 35 Minutemen from various states including Massachusetts, Maryland, Indiana and Missouri. Soon, others will be arriving from New York and New Hampshire.

The first speaker was Daniel Gilbert (R), a presidential candidate and a non-politician hoping to bring change to the status quo.  You can read more about him at www.wethepeopleforpresident.com

The next speakers were Jim Gilchrist of the "Minuteman Project" and Glenn Spencer of "American Border Patrol".  Finishing up was inspiring words from PBA's chairman, Bob Wright.

Lunch and the afternoon 'Mission Briefing' took place inside the Trading Post today.  About ten 2-3 person teams were assigned.  They were lined-up at 3:30 pm and were on their way before 4 pm.  By 5 pm they were all on post and ready for whatever the night brings their way.

See the first pictures in at OUR NEW PHOTO GALLERY

First report off our forums from Jon Healy:

Well I have been running my 6 off for the last 2 days helping to do what I can and the kick off was great.  Glenn Spencer spoke for awhile and is always very informative and exciting to listen to. Bob Wright was powerful as well. He said PBA is going to be the MM of the future!  Then Jim Gilchrist spoke about how great it is to see groups coming together and that there are 50 different Patriot groups throughout the country just like the 50 states in our wonderful country and hopefully we can all come together to creat a more powerful voice.

To get a small taste of what Bob is talking about when he said "we are the MM of the future", tomorrow we will have a live cam for any who wish to log into.  It is a pan, tilt and zoom IP camera and it is installed at the Trading Post camp ground.  You will be able to log in and control the camera and see those who is there and the entire campground.  Everyone will be aware that the camera is there so you may get a friendly wave now and again.

Also the PBA flag was unveiled. I know it was not put up for a vote yet but I had one made and donated it for this event.  I voted for this flag but is not the reason I chose the one I did. The flag I chose was the one Bob Wright voted for and communicates what PBA is better then all the other designs and is below.

Right after we get the camera online we will post a link to the camera.

God bless all.
