Office Volunteers Speak: What IS Going On?
Hi all:
Since we have never been in "the loop" so to speak, we are dumbfounded as to what is going on. As we entered church last night, we were left speechless by a church member asking us "what's going on with the minutemen and stealing money". What do you say, except, " we don't know what your talking about," and " where did you hear that"?. "It was on the Barry Young show Friday". That was not a surprise since Barry has broadcast this for the last several years and has invited Chris to come in and prove him wrong. To my knowledge this has never happened. We had asked many times when Chris would prove this "big mouth" a liar. The office manager always gave us a dumb excuse, like , "sometime in March" or next quarter ".
We also feel like fools. Both of us worked in the office two days a week, 8 hours a day, from the time the HQ was started, until last October which was over 9 months. We taught all of the new volunteers and ran the office when the manager was gone.
When we returned from a vacation, we were told we were only responsible for shredding. No more email, no more data base entering new members, no more vetting, etc. The reason was that the N.J. rep had stolen away members or did something grievous to MCDC. We have also been to all the musters on the border and have been to some of the protests so why get treated this way? We were told NOBODY was trusted anymore. We left after a few months of shredding------now I wonder what all we were shredding!! I do remembering reading a letter from an old couple who was sending in a check for $5 because it's all they could afford on S/S and they wanted Chris to have it ,so he could put it to good use. I wished the check was still there so I could return it to them.
We were also shocked when we heard David Jones was terminated. He and Stacey did more for MCDC then anyone in the organization.
