Chris,

We cannot believe that you could so totally misrepresent the facts of this matter.   Quet and I have been in on every one of the phone calls and e-mails and there has NEVER been even a suggestion of a take-over by anyone and we will gladly testify to that in a court of law under oath!!!  In the true best interest of the organization, men of good faith presented a list of questions that needed answers.  They asked to do this in a face-to-face meeting so that their intentions would be clear--they had no evil intent to try to change the organization or change the leadership!!!!  If you were thinking clearly on this you would realize how ridiculous your charge is:  those State Directors who are retired have neither the energy nor the wherewithall to take on a leadership role of national magnitude; the others are all working men and have other priorities.  The charge is just stupid!  Everyone involved was just heartsick about the cavalier way they were treated when all they did was ask for some time with you to clear the air and get the facts.  You have treated them and many others despicably when all they did was devote their hearts and souls to this organization and to the greater cause of stopping illegal immigration.  You are the only one in this organization looking to aggrandize yourself.  There was no hidden agenda by anyone--no one wants your job!

First--no one was ever provided with a copy of the so-called Bylaws which you claim they violated, despite many asking for them.  That is no way to run an organization.  If no one knows the rules, how can you accuse them of violating them?  It appears you make up the rules as you go along and when someone does something threatening to you, you "fire" them.  You come up with all sorts of justifications for terminating folks or punishing them as you did with David Jones that have nothing to do with any rules or SOPs or anything rational.  So you don't like the way they talk to someone or they complain--that is reason to dismiss them like dirt?

Second--clearly the fence has not been completed despite the large donations of money and that's a fact.  The first section of fence on the Ladd ranch was totally misrepresented to the donors and all who attended that Memorial Day ground breaking ceremony.  So then excuses were made and then the "real" fence was started...and nothing has been done since...?  This is an obvious embarrassment to this organization and people are asking a lot of questions of these leaders.  Their reputations are on the line and they deserve the respect they have earned in their hard work, sacrifices and devotion to this organization instead of being treated like a bunch of criminals.  If anyone is the criminal, it might be the folks who have apparently taken money under false pretenses and misappropriated it.  If it hasn't been misappropriated, then why hasn't there been a public explanation of why the long delay in completing what has been promised?  You keep sending out requests for donations with no accountability for what you are doing with the money!  That just isn't right and we, the people on the front lines deserve to know why.  From the paperwork we have seen, over a million dollars has been donated just for the fence.  All the donors deserve to know what has happened with the money for the particular causes to which they donated.  Why did the candidates just get a third of the PAC money donated?  Your so-called audit does not account for all the donations received, nor does it explain the fence issue.

Third--Are you so insecure that you cannot face your members and honestly speak with them when asked?  That speaks very poorly of you--not them.  And don't give us the excuse that you couldn't get back in time--you had planned on being back for the muster that weekend, that is why they asked for you to meet with them at that particular time.   And you would have been back in plenty of time, despite your family, if it was what you wanted to do.

Fourth--we had a big donor personally testify to all of us of your duplicity with him and show us documentation that clearly shows how the donations have been misappropriated to pay administrative costs instead of going towards either candidates (the PACS) or the fence.  These documents detailed line for line payments to Diener, American Caging and Defense Alliance--not for the specified causes advertised.   We understand that there are administrative costs, but when more than half is going towards administration, there is something very wrong!  Most people never donate to any charity that uses more to administer the organization than to do the good work.

Fifth--in a volunteer organization, the direction should be from the bottom up.   The volunteers are your most precious asset in such an organization, not something you treat with distain and discard at will.  You are no better than those we rail against in this immigration fight--you have gotten yourself into a powerful position and consider yourself above those who do all the work and give you your power.  Well, you are going to lose a lot of volunteers over this including Quet and I--not that you care--but it will seriously hurt the organization.  Those good leaders in the various states (more than just a few) will take their organizations with them.   So much for all the new MCDC chapters all over the country--you have just descimated the whole organization!  When the truth comes out that you had no just cause to terminate them, that there was no "take-over" attempts, that they only asked for an opportunity to clarify issues and concerns in good faith and loyalty, no one will ever trust you again.  As you know, we have close relationships with many high-ranking Republicans in the state and we will do everything in our power to make sure that information comes out.  You might as well write off your political aspirations after this.

Sixth--as men of honor, these state leaders could not continue to aid and abet you in misleading the donors to this organization when you refuse to even meet with them to give an accounting of where the fence money has gone, etc.  They could not in good conscience continue to ask their state members to donate to their chapters and then send the money into American Caging when they were not getting reimbursed for expenses and could not get anyone to explain when they might be paid or why they didn't get paid.  Especially after seeing apparent proof of misappropriations.  Their reputations (and ours) are on the line because we promoted MCDC and represented it as an organization of law-abiding, honest citizens just trying to make a statement to our government in our efforts.  Many of our friends and family have donated because they know us and trust us.  Now our integrity will be questioned along with the organization's.

We had been told by several people outside this organization that Diener Associates was mis-handling the funds of MCDC a year or more ago.  We refused to believe it because we had such a zeal to help this cause and organization and we trusted you.  But seeing how you have unnecessarily avoided meeting with valuable leaders of MCDC and untruthfully sullied their reputations to protect yourself certainly has given us cause to doubt your veracity and dimish our loyalty to you and the organization.
